About THESIS

We created THESIS as an act of rebellion.

We believe finding a great bicycle should be simple and joyful: honest education, fewer decisions, no marketing gimmicks. We create obsessively designed products based on evidence-based thinking. It all started with the OB1, a quiver killer for road, gravel, bikepacking, cyclocross, or touring -- at a fraction of the traditional cost.

But that’s just the beginning. We treat our factories and partners like family. We think mechanics, fitters, and bike shops are the unsung heroes of the industry that deserve to be compensated more fairly for their skills. We want to build a more inclusive, empowering bike industry for all.

Open Roles

Head of Marketing

Customer Experience Manager

Head of Marketing

We’re looking for a Head of Marketing to lead the charge in bringing THESIS all over the country. If you’re a brilliant marketing leader who understands the dynamics of the cycling industry and wants to play a major role in changing it for the better, we want to meet you.

This role is remote with infrequent travel. Candidates must be based in the United States.

Responsibilities:

  • Marketing
    • Make THESIS a household name. Lead, shape, and execute our full marketing strategy across web presence, paid media, content, social media, word of mouth, growth channels, and events.
    • Act as the main voice and visionary for our content, including web collateral, blogs, videos, and social media.
    • Test, iterate, and test again for our targeted messaging, UX, and advertising until we create the perfect customer optimization funnel. And then test again.
    • Manage our press strategy and relationships to drive buzz for the brand.
    • Drive our visual language strategy, from photography to UX and UI.
    • Lead strategy and execution for events across the country (infrequent travel).
  • Partnerships
    • Lead our new national mechanic & bike shop network, from recruiting shops to vetting candidates, onboarding shops, managing infrastructure and payroll, creating collateral, and providing ongoing service. We want to empower more mechanics and bike shops to shape their own destiny instead of being bulldozed by the big brands, and we’re looking to radically change how it all works.
    • Lead our brand ambassador program across the country.
    • Forge partnerships with other companies to grow our ecosystem in ways where everyone wins.
  • Nice to have:
    • Basic web development skills in HTML and CSS.
    • Photoshop, Illustrator, or Adobe Lightroom skills.
    • Expertise in UX or funnel optimization.
    • Visual design or photography expertise.

You are:

  • A proven leader with an entrepreneurial, creative, values-driven ethos. You believe strongly in evidence-based thinking, curiosity, integrity, and empathy. You’re allergic to the idea that things can only be done a certain way just because they’ve always been done that way. You care about the team, community, and mission, not ego or short-term gain. You’re passionate about building a more inclusive and empowering bike industry.
  • A brilliant marketer with rich experience in building brands, stories, and movements that grow with contagious momentum.
  • A data-driven thinker who can rigorously A/B test for targeted messages across multiple audiences.
  • A competent leader who can run our marketing operations like a tight ship. You’re detail-oriented, organized, and great at planning, following up, and making sure nothing slips through the cracks.
  • A great storyteller and communicator who can write confidently, persuasively, and with presence.
  • A talented relationship builder who makes people feel welcome, seeks ways for everyone to benefit, and coordinates complex networks and stakeholders with ease.
  • A collaborative, patient, empathetic team member who is comfortable working with all types of working styles.
  • Comfortable working on small, all-hands-on-deck startup teams and growing them over time.
  • Flexible on early-stage startup salary with meaningful equity, with potential to grow into a C-level role.
  • Preference given to folks who have led and scaled high-performing teams.

Since a key part of this leadership role is telling powerful, relevant stories to targeted audiences, a very strong preference will be given to candidates who either have prior experience working in the bike industry or are cycling enthusiasts in one of our relevant markets (road, gravel, mountain, cyclocross, touring, bikepacking).

Customer Experience Manager

If you’re a friendly, thoughtful, talented communicator with a background as a bicycle mechanic, fitter, or cycling coach, we want to meet you.

We’re looking for a Customer Experience Manager who will go above and beyond to help our riders through their questions, problems, and requests. We believe that having an amazing interaction with our riders is one of our most important assets, and we want you to lead the charge as one of the public faces of our company.

This role is a remote, part-time contract with flexible hours. Candidates must be based in the United States.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive our customer experience strategy, from shaping programs to measuring success to sharing and implementing feedback.
  • Deliver friendly, thoughtful, helpful responses to online customer questions on product, basic fit, compatibility, order status, and other requests.
  • Lead phone consultations for customers who want a deeper dive in configuring their OB1 to their fit and ride style, scheduled in advance based on your availability.
  • Become an expert on technical knowledge of THESIS products, particularly around product, basic fit, and compatibility.
  • Potential to grow into a team lead role as the company grows.

You are:

  • A strong communicator who can respond professionally and with empathy in written emails and on the phone, leaving our customers wowed by the experience.
  • An expert in technical bicycle work, e.g. you’ve been a professional mechanic, fitter, shop manager, or cycling coach. You’re the go-to person your friends ask for bicycle advice, you know the best way to put things together, and you see through marketing gimmicks to the engineering underneath.
  • An organized, detail-oriented professional who can work independently and respond to customer inquiries thoroughly and on time.
  • Comfortable working on small, all-hands-on-deck startup teams as they grow over time.

To apply, please drop us a line at team@thesis.bike. We look forward to meeting you.
